What isn't remembered never happened.
Memory is merely a record. You just need to rewrite that record.

| The Priority of Victories, And A Warm Feeling... |

Yahoo! Answers is a very bizarre place, embodying the principle of the internet that everyone, even idiots, have a voice, but it does have its own principles, in a way. If you're racist in your question, or being a troll, odds are your question will be removed, but if it's just a dumb question, it'll still be answered, and both askers and answerers alike cherry pick from time to time. But sometimes, people are genuinely helped by this service, and it is because of this that I put my own personal view on "the priority of victories"... It goes a little like this: there are, for answerers, 3 types of getting best answer (4, actually, but the 4th I'm lumping in with the second, priority wise), and, from least sense of accomplishment to most, here's my view on what they are: 1) Single vote win, because nobody else voted, and you voted for your own: Nobody can even pretend this doesn't happen, or that nobody's guilty of this, even with measures designed to stop this, such as not naming who made which answer. But it holds the least sense of accomplishment, because it really isn't a victory of any sort for the answerer, whether the result helped a person or not. 2) Multiple vote win, whether you vote for your own answer or not: This is a genuine accomplishment, although less than 3 because you can never be certain whether your vote would truly have made a difference at the time. 3) Chosen By Asker: This is the most accomplished you can get. If the asker chooses, they've already decided yours is the best answer, and when it genuinely helps someone, that's a true accomplishment, something to feel good about. Now, I'm not going to go into specifics as to why this particular "Chosen By Asker" made me feel good, but I will include her comment, and give the generalities of my advice. My advice can be put down to one simple thing: So long as you remember a person, they never truly die, and you should celebrate their memory, not mourn their loss. Two hours after I said that, it was chosen as best answer, and her comment was:- "Thanks. It really made me smile. Thank you so much for what you said. Thank you." Milady, you are truly welcome, and I'm really glad that you found comfort in my words. Thank you also, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do. Good luck, milady! ☺ touched ♫ None, but it's cool. |

Currently watching the Megaman NT Warrior series while waiting for 6PM (when I'm relaxing [sorta] with Kira), and boy is it amusing! Nearly every episode has something to make me laugh, and this one (Season 2, Episode 1, never translated to english sub) has taken the biscuit. Sure, Yai is rich as hell, but seriously, her summer house has a bat-slide to a submarine crewed by her maid staff? Hilarious! Anyway, it's quite quiet now, and I'm gonna get my lunch soon, but I expect things'll hot up when Kira and I discuss certain issues that have come up, sad to say. Still, we'll handle them as we've handled everything else: with me, oddly, being the calming influence, and, when we've found a solution, with style and panache! Go G-Team, Go! *chuckles* sorry, been watching too much anime now... but sod it, I have relaxation time for now! ☺ amused ♫ BG music to Megaman NT Warrior. Cool-beans! |

| A Lovely Christmas... |

...was had by all this year. I visited my dad this christmas, and have come back revitalised, happy, and with a lot more get up and go than I had when I left fishguard. We didn't do an amazing amount together (mainly watched TV, shopped a bit, had christmas dinner, and chatted), but that's good. It was good to just take a break from worrying, and see people. We watched the latest Dr. Who episode together (and, my god! What an episode! I look forward to when I get to see the New Year's finale!), saw all my grandparents (and some other relatives too, however briefly), which was also good, and... well, yeah, good times. My stepmum, Babs, also gave me a lot of help with my current OU assignment, just by pointing out how a radio production of it may work a lot better than a tv rewrite, and it wouldn't distract me from extraneous detail... the shape of it is in my head, it's just getting down the particulars. And, of course, the prezzies must not be forgotten. But, while they were all good prezzies (especially my Nanny Di's hooded sweater... *hugs tight* thanks Nan!), I had the best christmas present of all, effectively cheap or free: Seeing the rest of my family. ☺ cheerful ♫ Max Boyce - Slow! I spent my Christmas evening at The Rep watching Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Let me start by saying “wow!” The cast was excellent, especially the woman playing the narrator. The energy was there at the beginning and never let up. I don’t think I’ll find myself singing any of the songs from it, but I’d definitely be interested in watching it again sometime. There’s so much going on I certainly couldn’t catch everything in one sitting. I got my reservation fairly early and so had my favorite seat in the house, C14. That’s the third row from the stage and dead center. The first two rows are actually a bit too close for me, as you have to look up at all the action, and can actually miss things at the back of the stage. If you haven’t seen Joseph yet and can still get tickets, I highly recommend you try to catch it.

So, I haven't used this thing in over a year. Why is that? Oh yeah, because I said I wouldn't. Well, screw that. Tumblr is cool. But tumblr to me is more for posting stuff you find or do on the internet, and isn't so much for journally purposes. Maybe it is for journally purposes and I just want some excuse to use this again. Whatever, I'm going to use this again and you can't stop me. I'll still use Tumblr too, but just to post songs and contenty things I make. This will be for my emotional whinyness. :'D So uh, yup. No really though, I've just really needed an outlet to write some stuff lately. I just don't think tumblr's the right kind of audience for it. I hope you guys are down. ☺ discontent ♫ braveSaintSaturn - Binary |
